PTLLS and other training

Anyone working as a teacher, trainer or assessor in the FE sector or in any publicly funded training programme  must by law obtain a level 3 PTLLS certificate (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) within one year of appointment.   PTLLS is also the first step to obtaining a professional licence to teach.

PBD is accredited by City & Guilds to deliver PTLLS.  Using experienced, qualified professional trainers, we offer focused, small group training which introduces participants to a range of teaching approaches, using an enjoyable mix of theory and hands on practice. Courses are open to individuals or can be run for staff at a single employer.

We are an accredited training centre of the Chartered Institute of Health (CIEH) and can deliver online training and assessment leading to the award of level 2 and 3 qualifications in food safety and workplace health and safety.

We run courses and workshops on a range of management and personal skills topics such as effective delegation, conducting appraisals, managing conflict and negotiation skills. If there is a particular topic in which you are interested, please ask us. We have a wide range of expertise and contacts and can almost certainly deliver or source the training you require.

Although we are not accredited first aid trainers, we have an excellent relationship with a specialist provider and can usually arrange paediatric first courses leading to a recognised qualification, which can be delivered at your premises or in local venues at a very reasonable cost.  Costs depend on the number of participants: we offer this as a service to our clients and do not treat it as a source of profit.
