Employers are our clients, and we recognise the importance of responding promptly to enquiries and providing good customer service. Many employers have switched to PBD from other training providers, and we are continually surprised by how often this simple message is not grasped.
After you contact us, we will arrange an appointment for an assessor to visit you. S/he will answer any questions you have and conduct a brief health and safety assessment of the workplace, before meeting your learners. At this meeting, s/he will explain the process, assess whether the learners have the ability and commitment to succeed, identify the most appropriate qualification for them and provide any guidance or support that they need.
Once registered, learners will complete a six week induction period, during which they will be set work and receive intensive support while things are unfamiliar. This also allows them, you and us to be sure that they are on the right track. During this period we will create an individual learning plan.
At the end of the first six weeks we will decide, together, whether we want to continue the learner’s training. If we don’t, we will give them appropriate information and guidance on other possibilities. If we do, we will start them on a programme of regular observation visits and written work. Their assessor will be the main point of contact for support or for any problems.
Observation visits tend to be more frequent at the start of the process, with ongoing support by email, telephone and Skype. In general, we try to integrate the various elements of an apprenticeship as far as we can, so that it doesn’t feel to the learners as if they are doing several separate qualifications at the same time. Very often, a piece of work that they do for one qualification can be used as evidence for others.
I have worked with many training providers over the years and I can say that your online training is the best that I have come across, my staff have found it to be so easy and there is always someone on hand to help and support. Also I noticed that unlike other training companies, your assessors are thorough and reliable, if they say they are coming they come. The work that they set out for staff is explained thoroughly and staff know exactly what is expected of them.
I was worried about taking part in a webinar because I didn’t know what to expect. I must say it was a great experience, one I’m keen to repeat. There was lots of information which I will need to read in more depth, at my own pace. Being on this course has made me confident in what I do. I am better equipped. Thank you!
I am finding that the course is already having a positive effect on my practice. The resources are excellent and my tutor is doing a fantastic job in supporting me.
I have found this course very exciting. I have found my tutor to be really lovely and helpful and the eQual site is extremely helpful. The assessments set have been very clear with lots of information to help me fulfil the requirements.
I am finding my Level 5 challenging and I am learning and gaining more strengths and information. My tutor is very supportive and helpful and responds to my questions very quickly. I am very happy that I have chosen this path to further my career.
I am very pleased with my achievement, never in a million years did I think I would manage it but it has been thanks to Vicki (my assessor) for having faith in me and giving me the confidence to carry on. Thank you for everything
“The fact that I am having to research so much to understand the criteria, and get the right information to respond to it, is helping me to learn so much more and at a deeper level than ever before – I would like to say that this is an excellent course because it really makes you think, understand and learn in the most positive way – so well done to the team at PBD”
My assessor is brilliant and offers lots of support and encouragement. For many of my colleagues with other providers, their qualification has just dragged on and they have lost focus. Thank you PBD!
OMG! Five years ago I vowed that one day I would qualify as a nursery nurse and work on the special care baby unit. In that time I qualified at level 2 and level 3 , holding down 2+ jobs and juggling childcare. Today my dream came true. Thank you to everyone who has helped me!
‘When I started the qualification I was a bit nervous about the fact I wasn’t going to be going to a college to have lessons with a tutor. But I was reassured that if I need help I would get it and quickly, I found that it was better for me with my family commitments to do the course on line with you.’
Although our base is in the East of England, we have learners (and tutor/assessors) in most regions (London, SW, SE, East, W Midlands, E Midlands, Yorkshire & and Humberside and the North West). In regions where we don't have a presence, we are still happy to take on new learners provided there is enough demand to justify recruiting a locally based tutor/assessor who can provide learners with face to face support.
